W. Steven Edwards

Steve Edwards is a building supply executive who began working for his family owned business, Edwards Lumber Company of Charlotte, in 1976. After working in sales and operational roles, he eventually became President and Owner of the company. He ultimately negotiated the successful sale of the company in 1986 to Carolina Holdings, Inc./Stock Building.

Mr. Edwards maintained a position with Stock Building from 1986 until 2000. During this period he held various management positions and eventually became Senior Vice President of Store Operations. He had oversight of over 4,000 employees at over 50 store locations that generated $1.3 billion in gross annual sales.

Currently, Mr. Edwards serves as Chairman for M4L Millwork and for Professional Builders Supply, both of which he founded. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for North Carolina State University and the NCSU Student Aid Association. He graduated from N.C. State in 1976 with a BA in Business Management and in 1993 attended the Fuqua School of Business Executive Development Program at Duke University. He currently lives in Raleigh with his wife Lesa and has two grown sons, Steven and Bill.
