Richard W. Edwards

Mr. Edwards serves as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for all the financial activities of the Bank and Company and also has the responsibility for information technology, facilities, bank operations, audit and compliance. He has previously served as a senior financial officer of several public and private financial institutions including most recently as the Chief Financial Officer of Square 1 Financial, Inc. from August 2005 until September 2006 and the Chief Financial Officer of Capital Bank Corporation from April 2004 until August 2005. Mr. Edwards’ professional experience also includes eight years with the international public accounting firm of Ernst & Young and eleven years with Bank of America. Mr. Edwards is a 1981 graduate of the University of Illinois and a member of the AICPA. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Hemagen Diagnostics, Inc.
